MEET FRANCIS
Poland, 2016.
Every three years, young Catholics from around the world gather in their thousands for World Youth Day.
Days of meeting, sharing and communion in the Catholic faith, they are also the fervent but above all festive gathering of young people from all countries, all cultures and all religions.
This year, the WYD had a particular resonance since they were organized in Krakow, in Poland, the land of election of Pope John Paul II, when he was still Archbishop.
The theme chosen by Pope Francis was divine mercy, a subject which necessarily echoed current debates such as the fate of refugees in Europe.
